PST Board Member Pam Wilkins lays a wreath on behalf of Pompey fans

Before Saturday's game with Blackpool, PST board member Pam Wilkins, along with other Pompey fans, attended the Blackpool Supporters' Trust alternate Remembrance service. As an alternate to the official club Remembrance ceremony, because many Blackpool Supporters are boycotting home games, BST decided to organise the laying of a poppy wreath and two minutes silence outside the ground.

Pam said:

"I was pleased and proud to represent PST at BST's alternate Remembrance wreath laying on Saturday. I was impressed by how professionally the ceremony was run. Several BST members, who are ex servicemen were wearing their medals, poems were read and a bugler sounded the last post and reveille for the minute's silence.

On Sunday BST laid the PST wreath, along with their own, at the centotaph in Blackpool.

Our grateful thanks are due to Chris Pennycook at the Pompey Pals Project for supplying the wreath".

Before the game, board member and Supporters Direct CEO, Ashley Brown attended the Blackpool Supporters Trust meeting share some experiences from the Pompey story.

An ongoing ethical dispute with the owners, over what they regard as very poor custodianship of their club and dreadful treatment of supporters in recent seasons, has led to many Blackpool supporters refusing to renew their season tickets and boycotting home games.
