Away Travel

Not every fan travels to away games and not every fan that does travel, goes to all away games.  Some games involve a lot more effort than others especially if you travel independently - but most of those that travel get more from the day than 90 minutes of football.

“Away days” are usually a social event – a time to meet up with fellow fans, sightseeing, enjoying a meal and a few drinks - or all of those things. New venues excite; the release of the fixture list prompts a search for those towns not visited before. Maps and timetables are studied in advance so that the day goes as smoothly as possible.

The PST recognises this and tries to help by researching other fans’ successes or problems at each venue. We talk to the club we are visiting, local police and home supporters, as well as Pompey fans that live in the area, in order to build up a picture of preferred ‘watering-holes’, potential traffic problems, local parking etc.  We then collate as much information as possible and post it here, on the website as well as in the Sports Mail in advance of every trip.  We try to bring you accurate information on away travel, but the articles are written some time before the match. You can now get up to date away day information on things like traffic problems, by following @PompeyfcCop on Twitter.

We are pleased to support the Portsmouth FC Supporters Club (Central Branch), who run coach travel to all away games.  To find out the latest availability and how to book, visit www.pompeyfan.com/pompey-away-travel
